When her husband John dies of leukaemia, Annie & best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow WI members to pose nude for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from hospital porter & amateur photographer Lawrence.

Based on the true story of 11 WI members who possed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls was a hit film in 2003 before it opened as a stage play in 2008, it is now on releases for amateur performances for one year only.
